Moxon Rectangle Calculator

This page calculates the details needed for building a Moxon rectangle antenna as popularized in various places including the October 2011 QST. Rather than clutter this page with commentary I've put it on a different page.

Unlike AC6LA's version here the input unit select box takes precedence, so don't use a # on wire size. All calculations are done in wavelengths internally, so it's possible to input one unit and get a different one out. Calculations happen whenever the input controls lose focus, but use the Calculate button to read everything fresh and do calculations more reliably. For 300 ohm ideas check this page.

Click in the box, Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, then paste where you want it.
If you're using MMANA-GAL, your .maa file needs the blank line at the top.
If you're looking for a narrow beam for terrestrial stuff and you don't otherwise have a preference, use horizontal polarization.
